A Musical Journey Into the Enchanted Forests of Japan
With the gentle composition „mononoke“, the French musician takes her listeners straight into the mystical forests of the Japanese island of Yakushima, because these lush landscapes famously served as the inspiration for Hayao Miyazaki’s animated masterpiece Princess Mononoke. The artist found the initial spark for this introspective piece during a creative residency at Villa Kujoyama. The song serves as a sentimental bridge between the young child who was once captivated by Miyazaki’s films and the grown woman who eventually walked through those exact same mossy woods years later.
The upcoming album „la forteresse“ carries a title that the artist has kept in mind for years, because it reflects the subtle boundary between protection and isolation. The concept took a concrete form while she was preparing for her role in the musical adaptation of „Peau d’homme“. For this project, she spent months researching medieval imagery, ancient manuscripts, and the artwork of Hieronymus Bosch, which is why the musical atmosphere achieves a unique artistic depth.
International Success and Social Commitment
Over the past few years, the musician continuously expanded her global presence after captivating millions of listeners with her signature autoharp performances. Her major global breakthrough arrived in 2024 with the song „Ma Meilleure Ennemie“, a collaboration with Stromae recorded for the second season of the Netflix series „Arcane“. The track broke records on Spotify for French-language releases and has accumulated over 430 million streams to date.
Beyond her music, the artist regularly uses her platform to advocate for important social causes, as she actively speaks out for LGBTQ+ visibility, inclusion, feminism, and environmental protection. This clear stance makes her a key figure for a younger generation, which will surely resonate during her upcoming live performances.
