American indie-rock artist Caroline Rose has released „Valery (please don’t be mad at me)“ as the final preview of her upcoming studio album. A Melancholic Tribute to Lost Friendship and Real Hometown Stories
Inspired by classic crooner songs, the new single „Valery (please don’t be mad at me)“ serves as a melancholic homage to a lost childhood friendship. In the lyrics, the songwriter processes personal memories from her hometown while weaving them together with later experiences from her time living in New York. Because several characters in the lyrics represent composites of real people, the track reflects the tragic story of a best friend who passed away. Directed by Chloé Aktaş in Los Angeles, the music video translates these raw emotions into an otherworldly visual concept where the character of Valery appears as an alien creature hailing from the icy moons of Saturn.
Spaghetti Western Sounds and a Major World Tour
Working alongside acclaimed producer John Congleton, Caroline Rose developed a sharp sonic palette that fuses surf guitars, Spaghetti Western influences, and cinematic textures. Musically evoking the cinematic world of Ennio Morricone, the record pairs gritty guitar tones with sharp observations on societal tensions and the crumbling American Dream. Earlier this year, the single „Yip Yip Yow“ achieved significant radio success by climbing into the Top 25 of the Billboard AAA and Mediabase AAA charts through direct editorial support. Following the album release, the artist embarks on a extensive world tour that includes intimate Rough Trade in-store performances—bringing her to Berlin on November 9, 2026—before heading across Europe, Australia, and launching a major North American headline tour in 2027.
