The European indie-pop scene is currently witnessing a truly fascinating musical evolution. The talented Belgian duo Kids With Buns car crash officially returns to the global music market today with a brand-new single. Amber Piddington and Marie Van Uytvanck are choosing a completely fresh and unexpected artistic path with this fantastic release. Their latest track sounds significantly groovier, more playful, and more danceable than any of their previous melancholic songs. Lyrically, the production dives deep into the destructive dynamics of toxic relationships, while it also explores the complexities of the savior complex. Anyone who hears the vibrant track Kids With Buns car crash immediately feels a gripping tension filled with delightful contradictions. Parallel to this exciting single release, the charming duo announced their highly anticipated sophomore studio album „bell jar,“ which drops on October 16 via V2 Records.

Personal Heartbreak and an Inspiring Creative Collaboration in Philadelphia With Jacob Blizard

An intense period filled with emotional highs and lows in the lives of both musicians directly inspired the new material. The two friends ended their respective long-term relationships almost simultaneously a while ago. They processed this painful time of grief right in Amber’s bedroom through intensive joint songwriting sessions. For the actual record production, the artists eventually traveled to Philadelphia in the United States. There, they worked closely with the renowned producer Jacob Blizard, whom they had previously met at a festival. The meaningful album title „bell jar“ refers directly to the famous semi-autobiographical novel by Sylvia Plath. It addresses the cyclical processes of healing in connection with mental health. The album captures these difficult phases of fighting through perfectly, while the creative work kept the two women afloat.
