Only Women Music Origin: From Festival Shock to Our Own Platform for Female Artists
The idea for our project came about spontaneously as we were enthusiastically studying the line-ups of several festivals we plan to visit this year. We were shocked to discover that there were shockingly few women represented on most stages. This discovery left us no peace, which is why we began to look intensively at various studies and current industry information. The bitter result quickly showed that this imbalance unfortunately affects the entire music industry. We did not want to stand by and watch any longer, so we founded a site that exclusively supports women in music. The Only Women Music Origin was therefore the starting signal for our small, passionate passion project. We are not a huge media corporation, but simply a group of friends who want to tackle a real problem. A detailed look at the Only Women Music Origin makes it clear that you do not need a huge editorial team to draw attention to grievances. With a lot of heart and soul, we are now designing this platform for you in order to finally give female creativity its deserved place in the spotlight.
A Colorful Team of Friends with a Shared Mission
Behind the scenes of our magazine, a close-knit team of friends works hard to promote female artists. Contrary to the assumption that we are an all-female group, all genders are equally involved here. Yes, there are actually two men firmly in our circle. Whether Rieke, Bea, Lisa, or Jenny are holding the pen – each of us invests our free time into the articles. The male support comes from JB and Andreas, who actively help us with the technical implementation. We are all deeply connected by our love for music and the desire for visible change on the stages of this world. We want to move the world a little bit and draw attention to the existing problem through the targeted supporting of women. With us, there are no rigid hierarchies, but honest teamwork among friends who are committed to a fairer music world.
Together for More Visibility and Real Change
Our primary goal is to direct the focus onto the fantastic female musicians who are otherwise all too often overlooked. We firmly believe that the festival landscape and the entire industry will become much more diverse and exciting if women are given the same stage. Every shared article and every new discovery on our site is a small step in the right direction. We run this project completely independently and finance everything out of our own pockets because the topic is close to our hearts. The positive feedback from the community shows us daily that we have struck an important chord with our initiative. Together with you, we want to change perceptions and ensure that female acts are at the very top of every line-up in the future.
